Hi! I have been trying to learn to take pleasing photos with the gameboy camera. It’s quite tricky due to limited resolution and aspect ratio but super fun! Is there anything I can look to do to improve the framing or quality of my shots?

Why would you want to improve them? This is exactly how they’re supposed to be.

There’s an allegorical painting in the Taoist tradition with Buddha, Confucius, and Lao Tze each tasting vinegar. Buddha looks like he’s in pain after tasting it because life is suffering. Confucius is angry because it’s not pleasing. Lao Tze is smiling because vinegar is supposed to taste like that and he appreciates it for what it is.

    This photo is vinegar.

I was reading about these a while ago. I saw pictures someone had made by taking shots through filters for red, green, and blue and then editing them together for a color image. It looked neat, but I had thought about taking that same idea, but just doing duotone photos with different filters and palettes.

You’d have to figure out a tripod for the gameboy to get consistent shots and get the filters, but it seems pretty doable.
