Why, why would I do that?
Because I disagree with you about vehicles you think I’m a MAGA dude? Get a grip.
Trucks are available for purchase in America. Americans love them. It is what it is. If you don’t like it, move or push for legislative change.
Truck owners sure as shit don’t care about your talking points and will buy another, and another, and another. Nobody’s going to be convinced by pedestrian safety statistics or mpg concerns.
Trucks are so deeply woven into America’s culture I think guns would be banned sooner.
My next vehicle purchase is going to be the largest truck I can find not requiring a CDL.
No? You anti car people know nothing about cars and it shows. Your alternator would have to be dead if it can’t charge the battery in a mile.
Short trips don’t damage the engine any more than normal wear and tear, it’s not like they’re redlining the entire mile and a half?
@linux.community
Yeah I’d be embarrassed constantly if I was you too
Selfish? Bro get a fucking grip.
The responsibility of pollution is not on individuals. The pollution from mega corps compared to the every day man is a staggering exponential difference.
More likely to kill pedestrians? All vehicles can kill pedestrians. How is this even a talking point you idiots parrot back and forth.
Why don’t you just let him enjoy what he wanted? If he wanted something else, he’d get something else?
The truck hate on lemmy is pretty cringe
Unraid is great. Don’t let the FOSS heads say otherwise.
I paid $100 3 years ago, ONCE. Best purchase I’ve ever made.
I’ve tried the foss alternatives after getting familiar with unraid, and I still prefer unraid.
This is what literally every jellyfin user and forum has told me. So far it’s been completely unfixable.
Plex support actually gives me useful responses.
I run Plex and jellyfin side by side. Plex usually gives me the most hassle free experience so I use that most of the time.
I prefer the flexibility of creating user accounts myself on jellyfin so that’s nice.
But jellyfin after being up for 4~5 days balloons to 6GB of RAM consumption while Plex stays at ~200mb. Really annoying.
This kind of mentality only works if you don’t play games with other people.
Multiplayer only folk usually have a friend group that plays multiple games. If they don’t work in Linux you’re SOL.
Back when I tried to use Linux and never boot Windows a good 2/3rd of games I couldn’t participate in and was left behind. So while it’s better than it was, it’s still not good.
Luckily my work hasn’t disabled the remote desktop application protocol. So I do the same, but without parsec.
Can’t install parsec on the work computer, and the web app displays a black screen.
I’m not a crypto guy by any means. But your point 5 doesn’t make sense. Almost all of our digital infrastructure is systems being supported by other systems.
If you want to look at debit/credit card processing that is legitimately “bad enough that it requires a separate tech to work properly”. The banking systems that existed before cards needed new systems to process those payment methods. From the outside looking in, your critique could literally be applied anywhere for anything.
Again I don’t even use Bitcoin. That’s just a bad argument.
You mean you don’t want to see the same whiny post about LTT again?
People who want to kill people will kill people regardless of the tools available to them.
Hardware stores in any county contain the means to create mass killing events with a weekly paycheck.
You are not safe from people who intend to do you harm because you have gun laws. Stop thinking life is so simple.
A swiss permit is as strict as a USA background check.
I’m not even kidding.
You get a permit by not having a relevant criminal record and being of age.
USA background check is to see if you have a relevant criminal record and if you are old enough.
Saaaaaame shit in the end.
USA gun laws vary by state. Even those with the strictest of gun laws still have lots of gun violence.
Disarming your population isn’t the answer.
People love to point the fingers at the tool used to do evil things. Instead of addressing why the evil thing is happening.
Banning and restricting guns is a band aid solution that harms the general populace more than it benefits.
Bad actors that want to inflict harm are not concerned with using something legal to get the job done. There will always be inventive whackos out there that will find ways to hurt people. Guns or no guns.
The Swiss have almost the same firearm to people ratio as America ( at least compared to the rest of the world ) and under have far fewer of the same issues. I think this is largely because of cultural differences and availability for healthcare.
Everyone says this but personally I always liked 3 more.
Maybe it was the nostalgia because I played it first.
WireGuard, helpful for accessing stuff on your internal network that you don’t want to expose while you’re out.
Depends on the severity of the storm, and where it is. Most of Northern America is equipped for power outages. If a power outage extends over half a day something wacky happened.
