I know this might come as a massive shock to you but there are many types of people in the world with differing opinions that you don’t have to agree with.
Do you support child labor if you use twitter? Do you support the CCP if you open a tiktok link? Do you support middle east genocide if you support an american company? Chill out.
I think my problem is less the size of the game and more the user experience when it comes to these games. I love Elden Ring and Tears of the Kingdom even though they’re considered kind of overwhelmingly big, but I’ve enjoyed exploring it and having fun with it since it just drops you into the game and eases you into it.
Meanwhile, something like Skyrim and other RPGs makes me roll my eyes a little at the amount of things and markers you’re supposed to be looking at. I hate entering a new town and getting lost and having to look for everything. I hate markers telling me I should look everywhere and finish 20 quests.
Mostly aesthetically, but also since Linux Mint is a very stable distro updates are usually slow and the packages it uses are often a little outdated. If you’re the type of person to want to update to the newest thing as soon as it’s out, then it’s probably not for you.

FF16 looks incredible, but sadly I don’t own a PS5 so I guess I’ll wait for the PC version to come around. I hope it isn’t too far away…
Transistor is amazing. Be aware that it was free on the Epic store at some point, so if you redeem games a lot you may already have it in your inventory.
There’s something really addictive about Trackmania’s simplicity. The physics feel great and it always feels like getting a personal best is just one lap away.
Shame the campaign this season is kinda boring though. It’s all fullspeed maps!

Just wanted to put it out there that I ( [email protected] ) was one of the most active posters and commenters at [email protected] . If this instance wanted to be closed off and heavily moderated it should have been clear at the start, a lot of people were relying on communities here and suddenly closing them off is going to harm Lemmy as a whole.
Seeing everyone in the comments pointing fingers and calling us toxic evil trolls is also ironically very toxic. This doesn’t seem like the friendly community it’s trying to be. Most of the content on this instance wasn’t made by beehaw users. What a disappointing decision.

Rumors have it that Avowed will show up in the Xbox conference. I’m really excited to finally see some gameplay for it after a looong time of radio silence.
I remember playing Destiny 1 and being so underwhelmed. I picked up Destiny 2 with my friends after it went f2p and it’s honestly gotten so much better. Crazy that it’s been 10 years now.

If you hate menu diving then Tears of the Kingdom will actually make you go insane. I’m constantly swapping armor and scrolling up and down to find specific items.
Slow, boring climbing sections that add nothing to the game and just pad out playtime. I’m looking at you, God of War (2018).
Lives systems. Luckily modern games never use it anymore, but every now and then I play an older game and wow, losing 30+ minutes of progress just because you died a few times SUCKS.
