I’m in the same boat - can’t wait to have a fully integrated alternative to Obsidian in my Proton suite. They are certainly working on a step by step integration, although in Proton speed. So maybe in a few years or so.

Nope, it’s not even the executives, they are straw people for the most part.
Most corporations are owned by investors who can cash out any time and threaten to plunge the stock into oblivion by doing so. They go where short term profits are highest, squeeze out every bit they can get and prodeed to the next investment afterwards, demanding enshittification there.
I love Linux but Programs like CAD and professional graphics software don’t run. Still Linux is only an option for programming and gaming.
And the Screenshot is made in the underdark, right west of the entrance below the goblin camp. This game deserves all of it praise.
Well technically they did raise awareness.
Have not used Standard Notes yet. How does it compare to Obsidian?
I wanted to fully switch to Linux and FOSS for a while now but specialised software like CAD and image editing are either non existent or completely useless for professional purposes in their FOSS versions. What angers me most is that most is them could run on wine easily if the developers did some minor changes so it seems intentional.
Some of the tech they developed and use is open source. But the core tech is closed. For me, that’s good enough as long as they keep up acting with integrity they do.
Been using them for a while before switching to their paid version. Of course they are closed source and a business, so any hype and over the top praise is misplaced. That said they are indeed one of max a handful companies that never did anything to make me feel that my trust is misplaced. Their service is great, the products are well polished and reliable. Development is slow and they aren’t cheap. Their target audience is very security and privacy aware so any betrayal of trust would be punished incredibly hard. In that light, their own self interest should be a good insurance, should you be uncertain.
I’m so proud of the polish people to manage to get out of the claws of that more and more dictatorship-like regime by purely democratic means. I never thought such a thing possible but it inspires hope.
This is a good and valid point but in the case of X, the real shit show started after our during the renaming period. Do if you want to point out the idiotic bullshit, I think X is the way to go. Nevertheless, that’s hard to pronounce, like “I re-X-ed your X” sounds like a messed up relationship issue.
Dhampir Paladín
Actually, that sounds quite rad!
Nope it doesn’t. Mine works without any modifications but I heard that it happens occasionally. There are some easy steps to set up FF to work again, should be easy to look up.
Does that mean that when you’re sitting on a bench in the middle of a city, you could in theory snoop the passwords and banking details in clear text from the WiFi networks around you?
DDG does have better results than Google. I’ve not used the latter for years and was surprised by the bad quality of results when I used it once accidentally last week.
I’m in the same boat. A bunch of friends are interested, too but none of us trust themselves to be DM or has the necessary time to prep campaigns. Hence BG3 is our only option.
Ouff.
A few cars use Android Automotive OS. I wonder if it’s possible to run a privacy focused custom OS on them.
I can imagine. But even if a 10 million luxury apartments is sold at half price, I doubt that will help with that problem.
Low probability of that. Evergrande is so big, it can’t be compared to any western reference. For example, they built entire cities for millions of people that are completely deserted and are such bad quality most of it crumbles at a touch. Nobody will save that. Also, the Chinese people’s saving and retirement system is based on real estate. The Chinese government will try to avoid the fallout but very certainly not the way we western people are used to.
I’ll probably stick to 5e and switch to a different game once Hasbro forces DnDbeyond to disable 5e content. The only answer to enshittification is complete boycott.
