Snap is terrible. If you have a bunch of snaps on your system, it becomes very slow and sluggish
I guess it’s just my interpretation of “Worse Person in Tech” are we voting them based off of their person or what they’re doing to the tech industry.
All I’ve played is csgo growing up. Cool game
What’s a DD?
I don’t like what Peter Thiel has invested in (Stripe and Palantir). Elon Musk is ceo of a few companies that actually try to create interesting stuff, it’s better than actually funding collection of data.
Lmk if you manage to get it to work
I wonder what the right has to say about this.
One way to do this is to block hashes. This is a slippery slope though because it could be used maliciously. Only way to do this and protect freedom of information is to make this fully open source.
I got a 3rd monitor so it will be nice and symmetrical
I really hope Lemmy becomes searchable. That’s an amazing draw from Reddit. Other than Quora, I haven’t seen it yet.
I went about this in a pretty noob way. Synology + Jellyfin and I followed some online guides. Synology gives you a free DDNS hostname so you can access your NAS away from home. I don’t have to VPN or anything. I have to warn that using this method will result in having slow transfer speeds if you’re uploading large files. I use it to stream movies and shows so it seems to be fine for this purpose.
I’m doing my part. The life of one person creates so much waste and pollution.
Signal is easier to get into and with the upcoming implementation of usernames and hiding phone numbers I think I will convert all my friends on there. Aside from that, you could create your own Signal server if you want and unlike Matrix, it doesn’t leak any metadata.
I bought a 2 bay ds220+. 2 x 4TB drives. Been happy with it so far. I got Jellyfin on here and use Synology Photos and Drive to back up stuff. I also use Adguard home, this has been amazing and has blocked many weird microsoft and amazon pings. Yes, it’s proprietary but when I was building it, it seemed to be a decent choice and had lots of support. As I get more experience, I will probably build my own NAS.
Lol yeah. I learned my lessons from using Matrix.
Jerboa kinda sucks imo, there is no search feature as of yet. Sometimes it also logs me out of my account, however, it is stable so far so it has that going for it.
Today I tried looking for tv show suggestions and so I would like to have r/television, r/movies, r/televisionsuggestions. I also play csgo so the r/counterstrike and r/csgo subs would also be nice
Easily? I’ve heard it’s really time consuming to get it exactly how you like it but the same could be said about a lot of distros.
