ooo. this is a good question!
not sure about free or CalDAV, but i thought that proton mail was putting in some calendar function, and eteSync also do calendar, however, it is their own protocol (i think), not calDav. check it out though, it may work with an external CalDAV server?
dunno, i have it but maybe it doesnt work?
I have a Samsung, so it does most of the work for me.
Try yet another call blocker
I think it is on fdroid, but will have a github repo somewhere.
The Samsung one does most of the work, so I am not sure how good it is.
it is just a server-less javascript implementation (ie, a single html file, plus pre-packaged data).
Ultimately, it used leaflet.js and each square is a square-icon with different opacity. but i think you will find that heatmap plugin to leaflet will provide better performance with less complexity.
Still, i can upload it if you want.
I expect that it has heen made. Even better would be for the actual number of subscribers, or at least an estimate, would be better.
I think the lemmy github page has an issue tracker that you can add it to. (Sorry on mobile)
The subscriber count you see is how many on your instance have subscribed.
There are typically more, which is demonstrated by the screenshot you put up.
Ultimately, i want something that is able to work outside of its own walls. I dont want 10 messenger apps, and i dont want to limit the messenging app that i host to just us (ie, it would be good if my account can talk to others, by my sons can only talk with us).
XMPP i have heard nothing but good things about - i will do some reading on it.
Do you have any links for the french dropping matrix?
There are definitely a lot of different wine specific grapes. not as familiar with fruit grapes. typically only drink grapes.
yep, i have my sub-domain proxying to the host <server>:8448, and i can use it locally. however the android element app is not able to connect, but the browser element can.
it is a dilly of a pickle, and i am not sure what is missing.
the docs at https://gitlab.com/famedly/conduit/-/blob/next/DEPLOY.md tell me to curl directly to port 8448… oh, dumbass! just typing this out i saw that it was an if
not an and
port 8448… never mind! i iwll post this to indicate my stupidity and hopefully figure out what i am doing wrong!
$ curl https://your.server.name/_matrix/client/versions
# If using port 8448
$ curl https://your.server.name:8448/_matrix/client/versions
thanks, i am hoping to get conduit up and running, and the default docker-compose seems to be going ok, just need the rest of the plumbing, then the bridges and i will be sweet :D
I have the container up, but now some issues with ports. I can connect with element in the browser, but the app is having issues.
What did you do with proxying? I was told I need to port forward 8448, but that doesn’t seem right.
I’m using nginx proxy manager, default settings, and LE certs.
how difficult was the setup? i am hoping for lug-n-play type of thing.
ah, yep - that is cool. I expect that i will use Element and potentially another simpler client.
I am also curious about how element X will go, which requires the sliding API/proxy thingo. but that is future palitu’s problem.
as you saying that element doesn’t work?
thanks - the dendrite and synapse experience is what i am worried about - it seems to be the massive implementation that will scale to millions.
i was looking at conduit, but realy dont know what the issues i will come against with it. but it seems to be the most visible of the non-major implementations.
Thank you for having an answer that is not black/white. Australia seems to have a mix of social and capitlist policies, that has a decent balance. not perfect of course, and it never will be.
I like the idea of socialised public good (health care, etc) but with those capitalist mechanisms for how the markets operate etc. somewhere between the two is the best answer.
what command line options are you needing for audio? i use kubuntu, and the only reason i hit the CLI is to provide a special output so i can implement multiroom audio, with Snapcast.
Otherwise, i think i could install most stuff without it. OO, maybe spotify needed to add an apt repo, however i think there maybe a seperate installer (snap?) which would negate that.
i feel like you were not going for a vanilla instance if the latest kubuntu/ubuntu needed work.
