Oh, thanks for showing the other side! Like always, things are not just black and white.
I have never heard about Melroy before, but I was scared by the last comment. It’s nice to hear that there are nice people working on this branch :)
bye reddit 👋🏻

That makes sense!
For my basic knowledge working side by side with a lot of devs, I totally agree with the way Ernest thinks. It’s essential for a product that’s growing up to have a solid core that will not need to be rewrote in the near future.
But also, as an user, I keep wishing we could see more features, like the API for mobile apps.
I mean, besides what Ernest and Melroy thinks that’s the right way, there’s also what the users need, what the users want and what the project needs to escalate (new features vs core rewriting). And probably there’s not a right answer for that.
Honest question: what’s the reason to make a fork instead of contributing do kbin itself?
Watch out, he’s going to virtually punch you until you upvote his comment, like a real man would do
You mean when violence was more aceptable than talking? Of course I remember (even because it still exists) and I’m very happy that society is evolving
I don’t know if there’s an updated roadmap, but this is the one that I’ve found some weeks ago: https://kbin.social/m/fediverse/t/511/Kbin-Roadmap-2023
But these settings are just for the in-site notifications, don’t they? I mean, I have some of them checked, but never received a push notification in my browser to don’t need to open Kbin every time to check of there’s any new interaction
I have signed up for beta weeks ago, but never got invited :(
I don’t wanna be rude, but this answer is the exactly first thing written at Kbin’s frontpage, but people always keep asking “why Kbin doesn’t have X feature”
I didn’t know there was a button like that! Where can I find it on Android?
Question: all these permitions are allowed by default? Or the app asks for it and you can allow them or not from Android/iOS permissions, like notifications?
I’m liking Kbin too much to start hating it now! Please, Ernest, don’t tell us who you really are
Also there’s really a UX problem with images (which appears to be fixed at testing instances) but, for now, you can enable “Auto media preview” on settings, so you don’t need to click them.
Oh, now I see! So the upvote is really an upvote and the only difference is that it doesn’t count for reputation, right?
I’d be afraid that the whole Fediverse exploded trying to translate this between platforms
If I can give you an advice: don’t stop trying to get used to kbin.
For me, at the beginning it felt a little complex and hard to find what I wanted, but after some days it started to feel like home and everything now makes sense (except for the upvote button that don’t really upvote a post)!
Thanks for the info! I was wondering why there’s only lemmy apps being released and why they hated kbin so much lol
That’s definitely what I need! And also would be perfect if the deafult view of the homepage had only posts from the magazines that I’m following, without having to go to specific page just for it.
For sure guinea pigs would evolve into capybaras
