  • Evolution theory DOES explain where we came from, and the theory is proven billion times over and over. It’s insanity to believe anything else. As Dawkins neatly put it, we have more evidence for evolution theory than we have for Holocaust.

but most atheists are aware of this or just handwave away the problem.

No, ‘atheists’ do not handwave problems found in scientific theories away but study it until it’s no longer a problem. What religion does is just says “it must be gods” and throws any reason to thrash bin

  • Yep, but we have tool for trying to understand it. It’s called scientific method, and it has so far been able to help us understand the mechanics of the universe without resorting to crazy claims such as “yeah must have been super powered aliens”, which is the only offer from religion.

I do get that there’s a chance that it’s all bogus, and that there really is or was a god that created everything in a way we have been able to measure it, but why exactly should I believe it? Which story should I believe? ‘In this world of a million religions everyone prays the same way’, the same human made stories written over centuries trying to explain the world around us. In this context religion seems nothing more than a predecessor to scientific method turned into crowd control tool.

  • Agreed, it can be very frustrating - and is often used for that very purpose, to let the person know they just wasted x amount of time to compose a message no one is going to even read let alone take seriously. But I do not think this is really a good indicator for someone being a child, it’s just intentional insult.

I tend to think they’re either young or generally underexposed to how human interaction works.

There’s a lot of us who are not very great at communications for various reasons. I personally might just lose interest in conversation and can’t get myself to put in the effort to actually contribute value to it and just phase out, and same happens online in a way. As fucking annoying it might be for the person I’m conversing with, it’s not intentional nor meant to insult

I have a bad habit of resubbing to wow every couple years for a bit, and yes I feel like Theoden king. My fingers start to remember their strength as soon as I lay my hands on the keyboard, it feels like returning to home. In no time we’re back spreading a little plague in raids, arena and bgs

  • I absolutely agree that we should work on improving EVs, charging network and whatever technologies makes it better and more suitable for more people. But every person in need of a car has unique hard requirements for the car that can’t be ignored as “inconvenience” - and many of those people have to drive with fossil fuels still.

Also, battery swap stations being available in X location doesn’t matter to people living in Y location, nor should people in Y location buy EV in hopes that it will be better in Z years
