Ikea smart devices are all zigbee so far, which is great since you can just plug it in to home assistant and it does respect your privacy.

Plugs like this are also a lot more useful than just saying total power consumption or whatever. I have a few similar for automating not smart devices. Things like a proper notification when my kettle or rice cooker is done, notification when humidifier is empty, etc. You get the functionality of a smart device but it’s as cheap/robust as the original version, and privacy respecting/more secure since it can’t be connected to the internet

the problem is if the connection gets interrupted your progress is gone. you download to a file first and it gets interrupted, you just resume the download later

one more for using nix, but for language tooling I generally prefer a nix shell and installing per project dependencies there. then updates don’t break random projects and you know all the dependencies of a given project

Mine has just started to have problems with the steam button and the right stick not registering presses. There really aren’t alternatives and I’m devastated. Probably going to have to buy used ones off ebay if I can’t fix it.

extensions tend to be the slow part in my experience. after a couple heavy extensions on an already struggling work laptop I’ll frequently outpace it’s input handling and have to wait for it to catch up

I loved peragus the first time through, but the more I replay it the more it’s just having to run around to all the terminals in the right order while being slowed down with the easy but tedious fights, esp with not a str or dex build and harder difficulty.

Oddly enough, I’ve had a decent chunk of my only barely technical friend group switch to it for the opposite reason. They all just copypaste snippets of config between each other, and if something breaks they just go back a revision. I doubt any of them spend much time configuring anything. It really is the perfect idiot proof distro and I don’t normally see people talking about that side of it
