MakeMKV (at least in windows) lets you rip a remuxed mkv without having to rip everything. So you can just select the titles, audio, and subtitle tracks you want without ripping all the other stuff. You don’t need to make a full backup and then pull all that out.
Hitting the kbin logo takes you back to your feed, instead of having to click it and then go over and click the Home button. That’s a huge plus, IMO.
I game at 3440x1440 ultrawide, and upgraded from a 3090 to 4090. 4090 is significantly faster and smoother. And DLSS3 frame interpolation is no joke- in Hogwarts Legacy with every setting cranked up and max ray tracing, turning on DLSS3 jumped me from around 80fps with noticeable 1% low stutters and now pegs it at the 144fps limiter I set in game. Smooth as butter.
Also I mess around with some AI things like stable diffusion, and it’s much faster for that as well. As much as I hate the term “future proof”, the 4090 is more worth it in that regards, IMO.
Microsoft’s Gamepass gives you a discounted price on games, so if you see that something is going to fall out of their subscription catalog you can purchase it for less. It’s only like 20% off but it’s nice that they offer it.
Dark Helmet above them all, as it should be.
Gotta say, I’m really excited for the work you’re doing on Artemis. Kbin’s mobile site is really good especially considering how young it is, but I miss the smoothness of a real app. Thank you for jumping in on it so quickly and enthusiastically!!
Don’t think it was on the short road map he posted. He’s only one guy (hopefully some solid devs he can work with will come on board). I ended up just signing up with my Google and it gave me the option to change my username. Probably gonna give my a headache at some point though.
Kbin is supposed to be able to communicate with mastodon and most other softwares on the fediverse, which is why it exists. Definitely needs some tweaking, though, there’s like one dev right now.
Don’t forget to buy Ernest a coffee so he can put some finances towards upgrading the server!
I put in a feature request to do like you said with “racks”. Being able to assign a group of magazine/community subscriptions to a category and have a drop-down to select it so that your feed is just subscriptions in that category would make browsing more cohesive, instead of having to visit each subscription separately.
Kbin has been my first foray into the fediverse, and I gotta say I really like all the work you’ve done. Keep it up, you’re building something amazing here!
Damn, HBO really needs to pick up Half Life as a live action show.
Try out kbin, it’s geared for Lemmy and mastodon in one place.
Easier way for Kbin seems to be dropping the “!” and putting it after Kbin.social/m/
So /m/[email protected] should take you there.
Alyx came out 4 years ago, and is recognized as one of the best VR titles of all time. It’s a full 15 hour game, so not a tech demo. I’d say that’s a hit.
