I’ve tried both. Here are some thoughts.
I like the more sorting options by different time points like last 6 or 12 hours on Kbin.
Seems easier to find Lemmy subs on Kbin that it is to find Kbin subs on Lemmy.
I don’t like that I can’t see what Kbin defederates from like I can on Lemmy.
I’m wary of large instances on the fediverse because of stability and being a potential target for defederation due to size (such as mastodon social).
Hopefully they aren’t successful like Twitch was at killing adblockers. I stopped watching twitch after they broke them. The web just wants you to pay for a million subscriptions nowadays. Meanwhile those subscriptions continue to climb in price.
Update: Vaft script for Ublock Origin works for me now from TwitchAdSolutions
Good point. Hmm what if userprofiles only stored the last ten posts/comments of a user? That would give a picture of one’s character without showcasing all of one’s interests and stories.
I dual-boot Windows 10 for gaming and Linux Mint for everything else.
I’d just try to spend as little time as possible on websites that require using Chrome. Probably would be plenty of sites resistant to implementing it (at least those worth visiting). I wonder if Gemini protocol would get a boost in popularity.
