@GeekFTW @pmtriste yeah at the moment I’m only waiting for the api to come out. This will spawn lots of good mobile clients. Artemis so far is pretty good for its early stage and the scrape yourself approach but an api is much more efficient and a much lower entry point for devs.
But in the end I’m happy we even have these options!

Kbin is by far not a finished product. Please do not forget this. Ernest is working super hard on kbin but he is literally ONE MAN running all of kbin with a little bit of external help.
No. Kbin is the same everywhere. Some things are just in slightly different positions.
I for example almost always append an “Edit:” note even though it initially is Reddiquette not Fediquette. Also you could use Mastodon for kbin content, it shows edit notes and edit histories
Kebin sounds actually pretty nice
I think they’re scared by the growth of kbin haha
No but for real, Federation is about being open in my opinion. We have modlogs, everything. Then please provide information about why you exclude x from doing y.
A bang just hands the search term from DuckDuckGo into the search field of the target website.
Safari suggested kbin as a search engine as soon as I loaded it up so it is definitely not a big matter to add it. I’d really enjoy to see this as I use bangs A LOT
That’s because they are very different technologies and approaches. They share the content through ActivityPub but that’s mostly it.
They aren’t. I can normally use some communities of feddit.de but some (eg [email protected]) can’t even be found by kbin
Do you happen to know why I can not access many explicitly German Lemmy communities? I only could contribute there once I set German as my language on @Semmelstulle. Before that it was like I was blocked.
@melroy Lemmy look it up
