  • I have that book in storage, soon after septic is installed I plan to get my stuff here, need the tools to build.

We have been planning on a composting toilet in the house.

The septic will be used for the kitchen sink (it’s considered black water here) but everything else can be used for plants if we use safe soaps for the liquids and compost the solids long enough.

  • I have been planning to homestead for close to 20 years, and just jumped into the lifestyle 2 months ago.

My wife and I are living in a tiny SUV with our cat. We have a fridge, twin bed, warm blankets, plenty of food and water. We have an outhouse tent for our business. It has a $4 bucket with a $15 toilet lid. I added a container and a funnel in there for liquids, and we use bags for the solids. Works for us.

We have explored the state and went to some really cool places, until we found land we purchased.

As soon as the septic is installed we can legally live in an RV, we can start a compost pile, start a garden, get chickens, and try being as self sufficient as we can.

I also want to make and design my own off grid things, for example making a wood gasifier. Then in an emergency we can run gas things from wood (generator, truck, tractor, etc).

I plan to share my experience on YouTube once we have an RV, hoping I can help people to live a more sustainable life.

  • My aunt is very controlling, so I completely understand how you feel. My aunt wants to control every aspect of my life, she tried to rob me of my money to gain even more control over me. I feel like a slave in my own house trapped because of her. Soon I will get out of this situation but you’re not alone in that feeling you got seeing normal people doing normal things. It’s even weirder for me telling normal people of my aunts abuse because most people never seen a narcissist and this deception to gain full control. My aunt plays “I’m so worried about my nephew” but it’s to cover her abuse, so people don’t believe me.

  • When I was in college almost 20 years ago, my first car was stolen by a pro chop shop.

My first car was a magical feeling of freedom. I was able to go anywhere and have friends with me, it was like a home away from home. One day I parked it and a few hours later I went to leave and the car was gone. I filled a police report and insurance.

About 3 days later the police found the car on the street with no engine, no wheels, just dumped there.

I went to see the car at the impound lot and wow everything was missing or destroyed. The entire car was covered in oil to hide fingerprints. I was destroyed.

There have also been times where people steal from my house, people I thought were friends. But the car really damaged me. I’m not the same person I was before the car was stolen.

  • If you have a vehicle, consider car camping. Some of the YouTube I have been watching are “Cheap RV living” and “SUV RVing”. Both of these channels show how little you really need to live in a car.

Something to keep warm, something to cook, somewhere to poop. Lots of people get a little battery bank to keep their phone or laptop charged. Try not to use your vehicle power when parked but you can charge everything while driving. I have been watching a ton of that camping channels because my wife and I are about to live in our car for a while and find where we will move to. We spent the last year gathering everything we think we need for the trip using these videos. People live in cars as small as a Prius (which has climate control when the car is off). We have a slightly bigger car, but I think we can do it after seeing so many people living in cars.
