Hi
I worked in games for a number of years, so on top of being exhausted coming home, it was near impossible to not fall into work mode when I tried playing games for fun.
Welcome to the world of hyperpop, it only gets weirder from here
She did a hyperpop remix of this a couple years ago and it actually slaps. Link
Ever since I was a kid, I’ve loved the video game series Thief, where curse words are often replaced with the word taffer. I chose it as my username, but then it stuck as my actual name when I later came out. Most people just assume I’m related to the guy from Bar Rescue and not that I’m a big fan of a stealth game from the 90s
I browse Lemmy almost exclusively, but adding “reddit” to the end of a Google search is still the easiest way to solve issues I’m looking up.
It definitely takes an active effort to enjoy games when it’s also your work. What worked for me was finding the weird niche stuff that didn’t resemble the stuff I worked on at all. I imagine if you’re a developer that it could also help get the creative juices flowing too.
