Exactly. All we can do is try to improve.
Exactly. All we can do is try to improve.
Southern Ontario checking in. We did that too. ‘Gyped’ and ‘indian giver’ were also things.
Although, I had an indigenous friend one summer who quickly became popular because he was very funny. He used to use slurs against all of the white kids all of the time. It was the most effective anti racist tactic I’ve ever witnessed. None of us were comfortable using a lot of the slurs that were baked into our culture, unless it was with our friend and a smile.
Resorting to insults when you can’t get your point across in a reasonable way. My bet is you’re a teacher.
Cheers
You’re starting to get it?
That the true believers aren’t afraid of death. The believers that are scared at the concept of dying aren’t actually believers at all.
100% it’s different.
Just because a movie has a jump scare it isn’t necessarily a scary movie. There’s a difference between some existential dread and ‘boo’.
I’d argue that the accident is a startle response with body horror mixed in.
Some people are scared of death. Doesn’t matter the cause. That’s what I’m talking about. It’s 100% different than a fatal car accident.
(Assuming you’re American)
Lots of Americans seem to think that state media is a bad thing. Lot’s of countries get it right. Especially after it’s first been implemented.
I’d often rather have a government (obviously not Russia, China, or in my case Canada) over some oligarch controlling it. Murdoch hasn’t exactly been doing good things wherever he goes
Guy got 87%.
You can’t get 87% of people to agree on pizza toppings for the night
A fatal car accident is different. Could be a shock scare or just not wanting to be injured.
Belief in god has no bearing in reality.
Having said that, my grandfather outlived my grandmother by 10-15 years. On his deathbed, he was holding some marriage pictures. He was looking forward to seeing her. Guy believed 100%. Still makes me tear up thinking about it.
I agree with you.
Either the person isn’t a ‘good follower’ and isn’t going to the good place.
Or they don’t actually believe. Because there should be no fear or apprehension about going to the good place
I’ve heard, so take with a grain of salt, that China likes Chiang’s ideology that China should be reunified.
The disagreement was who should be in power after.
The removal of the statues somehow indicates they don’t want reunion.
Most reddit users are bots.
Most human reddit users are lurkers.
What’s the ratio of active to lurker user on fediverse users?
The guys unhinged. He puts Matt groening orbiting the center of some great conspiracy while at the same time his main point is correct.
I’ve seen people fall down these rabbit holes and have them trigger something that drives them away from sanity. It’s sad af
Israel has attacked 4 different countries in it’s ‘war against hamas.’ It’s attacked, Syria, Lebanon, Iran and Palestine. They’re aggressively trying to escalate.
Every good anarchist understands the power analysis rarely fails, but I’m trying to be a little more optimistic lately
I see this as very positive. If people want to band together and have a state. Why is anyone standing in their way? Same thing with seceding.
It’s nice that countries are starting to do that for Palestine. It’s kind of wild that it’s taken this long
Taiwan has always been a bit fascy.
When Kai Cheks party split from the CCP, he ordered the killing of any communists still inside his own party effectively starting a civil war. Kai chek eventually lost and fled to Taiwan where he ruled until his death.
That bit of history is crazy interesting and also illuminating regarding current Chinese policy. I’d really encourage anyone to read up on it
‘Killing nearly 32 000 already’
32 000 confirmed already. The real number is much higher
Because you’ve got some naive beliefs about the state of the world …
We should just agree to block each other. Cheers
Dudes drunk the koolaid. Probably not worth the effort to get him to think critically
I agree with you, but you might find the history of Zionism interesting. Before Israel, there was a sizable portion of Zionists that didn’t want Israel to exist in the middle east. There were also Zionists that didn’t want a ‘state’. They thought it was more important to have a safe place for a sizable Jewish population. There’s probably a lot of flavors of Zionism that you’d agree with. It’s the dominant Israeli Zionism that’s horrible.
It’s a lot easier to say ‘Zionist’ though. Just thought I’d share in case you weren’t aware.
