They believe that taking a moral stand against the Democrats, who are supporting Israeli genocide, is worth it even if that means that Trump, who even more fervently supports Israeli genocide, becomes president.

This is already being done, but it does need to be scaled up.

Other high priorities: bodily autonomy/abortion, police and prison reform (yeah, I know, never going to happen), strengthening voting rights and democratic institutions, replacement of aging infrastructure, support for Ukraine, SCOTUS reform, universal healthcare

German dubs are actually top notch compared to other countries.

Fox News made it out as though my city (Seattle) was in complete anarchy because there were people camping in one of the more popular parks in the middle of the city, which is near a police station. And they graffitied the police station.

I know multiple people who believed it sincerely, including my mother-in-law. And I’m just like, Jesus christ, people… It was a bunch of college students out for summer camping in the park. There were artists and people playing guitar. Basically modern hippies.

That neighborhood always has some crime because it’s a bar hopping neighborhood. The one guy who got shot at the time that the hippies were camping had nothing to do with the hippies camping.

It’s almost like people can coexist and express their opinions peacefully when the police don’t have panic attacks/roid rages at the first sign that somebody dislikes them, or treat your average suburbanite like they’re some enemy combatant, and instead just chill the fuck out.

Absolutely one of the most beautiful cities in the world, which unfortunately has led to a lot of over tourism. I hope they can get it handled better so that the city isn’t completely overrun by them/us.

I think just letting the Chinese tourists know that there are places in Japan that also have gorgeous, ancient shrines and temples and buildings might help to spread the tourism out. I don’t mean that as a dig against the Chinese; Kyoto is a very accessible and beautiful place to visit flying out of Beijing or Shanghai, so naturally Chinese tourists congregate there more than people from other places do. Go to one of the bigger shrines or temples in the area, and almost everybody around you will be Chinese. Got to send some to Nara! So close to Kyoto and so rich in history.

An ancient Buddhist temple in Kyoto. I don’t recall its name without looking it up… But it was much less crowded than most of the other temples and shrines in the area.

One can hope.
