Kbin user here…
I think karma in relation to up/down vote of posts is a good thing.
The total karma of an account isnt interesting for me, but other users may be more interested in it.
Best solution in my opinion would be if it is handled instance based. If one instance decides to show the total karma of a user its ok for them another instance might decide to not show the total karma or even completely hide up/downvotes.
So every user can find an instance that alligns with his view on this matter.
Playing Cyberpunk 2077 for the first time and having a lot of fun
Just give it a try. I started playing it for the first time about a week ago and im having a blast.
A lot of the things that got criticized when it was released have been fixed.
Well thats mostly the case because only the admins on Beehaw can open new communities.
Huh thats scary.
Im honestly not that deep into the AI theme so im not really able to recognise which of all this AI things are real and which are more wishfull thinking or marketing.
Not trying to argue with you as you are correct as far as i see it…
Having a whitelist federation List would be worse in my opinion cause it would effectively kill the whole “everyone can start his own small instance”. It would be a whole lot of work if every small instance has to get approval from the bigger instances to federate with them. And for the bigger instances to process all applications for federation.
Yeah there will never be a perfect middleway. Either you have a lot of small kingdoms where sometimes some of them go rogue or you got one big one where the Leaders literally rule the whole place.
I think feddiverse will be the better option in the long run after some things get tweaked a bit more.
maybe i didnt express correct what i mean…
Lets say after 5 years of kbin running and lots of user interactions.
-It should be really easy to pick out 50 or 100 (for example politcal) threads and filter all the up and downvotes. After that you could identify for most of the users which direction they are leaning.
-in the same scenario its much more work to read (or train a AI or bot or something)all the posts to interpret what point of view all these users have.
Im doing (“did”) a lot more of up/downvoting than writing longer replys to different topics.
It should be much easier for a company to scan a wide array of users on their voting behaviour than reading their posts one by one.
ok thx. I blocked it throught ublock Origin now but that only works on firefox, not on mobile…
