    Why do these exist? And I mean all those religious book reading applications collectively. Browsing through f-droid it feels like every third beginner’s project is a Bible-, Torah- or Koran-reading app.

      Your not wrong lol.

      My personal reason was because I simply enjoy the historical aspect to it so I wanted to share it in a more accessible way

      It’s kinda funny to see, I’m always surprised to see so many in the wild. My guess is just that it allows the developers to get familiar with the technology they’re using by making a relatively straightforward kind of app, harder than a counter, but easier than a full-on data wrangling beast

      The short answer is they were indoctrinated from a very (too) young age to center their existence on it for no other tangible reason than that’s what happened to their parents.

      Edit: what a shock, objective fact gives the indoctrinated a big mad. 🙄

          This is a straw man and a false equivalence. Not indoctrinating one’s kids in a religion does not imply permitting one’s kids to be brainwashed by school or the media.

          This was a good demonstration of the tendency for religious people to forego reason, thanks.
