But I guarantee that 80% of this fake news comes from westerners (particularly on twitter), literally the only people i’ve seen some of them mourn the fall of Assad. every Syrian i know is ecstatic and smiles from ear to ear.

Example: An Australian person supporting Assad despite not living in Syria

Russia benefitted a hell of a lot more from Assad being in power than the U.S. and its allies.

True, but Assad is useless now. I wouldn’t be surprised if he fell down 9 stories down to his death, Putin has no use for him anymore. It’s over for Russia in Syria, maybe they’ll refocus on Sudan.

Initially I thought Putin would get rid of Assad as well, but having thought some time about it, I don’t think it’s going to happen. Mainly because that would send an even worse message to the few allies Russia has left, than losing Syria in the first place: “Not only are we going to let you down politically when shit really hits the fan, but we are also getting rid of you personally as soon as you are no longer useful to us”.

I think even Belarus Lukaschenka would start getting second thoughts at that point. So I think Assad and his family will live out the rest of their days in a “small” government sponsored dacha in Moskow.

Interesting, seems like they’re taking advantage of dysfunctional mideastern countries to gain power in the region. EF only they kept their grubby hands to themselves.

Colonialism is how we got into this mess, and our leaders think being colonized more will save us, it’s a tragic loop.
