Ok, I’m feeling like an idiot, but what does enabling “Dynamic lists” in the settings panel actually do?
I’ve even tried reading the source code and I still don’t understand what it does. It seems like it should have something to do with notifications, but in the end I’m just incredibly confused.
I looked into this once (lol a couple weeks ago). Its supposed to enable “live” pages, so that on the new tab, new threads are added without having to manually refresh the page. I dont think its working though.
It would end up with behavior like the lemmy bug that had new posts just show up and take over your page. Not sure its something we even want if im right.
That being said, i could be wrong on the above. @ernest would know.
I don’t think anyone knows or the feature is currently broken. I just looked for 30 minutes and found nothing (partly because the toggle label is indexed with pages, so EVERY kbin post is returned).
BUT
Just of the hell of it, tried Bing and ChatGPT popped up this:
According to a Reddit post1, Kbin is a decentralized platform for content aggregation and microblogging that operates within the Fediverse networkDynamic lists are a feature of Kbin that allows you to create custom lists of posts based on filters2.
Ooooh, so like multi-reddits!
