I’m on kbin. Not sure if it works on lemmy. I just went to the main search and typed in @elonjet@mastodon.social (not sure if that will show right, it turned into a link for me when I pasted last. For me there’s a follow option, in my profile it shows as followed and the last post is there.
You copy the url and paste it into the server bar on your own homefeed. It’s visible in the upper left. I’m including a ss of what it looks like while on my own account. Then hit search, his account will show up in the feed, click it to go to his profile and hit follow.
Edit: You gotta have a mastodon account to do this btw.
I think lemmy simply just does not support communication with most other fediverse software. or at least I found an issue in its github repo that suggests that
How did you follow it? Tried with pasting its name in multiple formats, but wasnt able to follow the account, let alone view it

Why doesn’t it work with a Lemmy account? I thought that’s the point of the Fediverse?

Probably a little busy with the recent surge in popularity. Maybe some other developers can get involved.
No idea, I’m not smart enough to explain why.
