I think there won’t be an immediate rush, but I do think there will be a sporadic sine wave of people checking out the place.
Funny enough the best thing people can do is hold off posting memes and then doing it on the 1st of July for maximum engagement.

No. Once 3rd party apps shutdown people will realize how shitty the official app is.
Once sync for lemmy releases majority of sync users will install and start using it side by side with reddit.
If Apollo, boost and other third party apps developer also switch to lemmy then it will become even more active.
At some point we will start searching keyword + lemmy on Google.
