    Waze is google.

Osmand can do that easily. You can even copy coordinates.

Magic earth can do it as well but it’s not open source. At least it uses osm.

I bet 90% of waze users have no clue.

I met people who didn’t know youtube was google. The “instagram by facebook” should be mandatory like “made in germany” for all goods and brands.

“Made in germany” was invented by the British to show its citizens which products were locally made and which were foreign to boost local production. It backfired hard and people prefered German goods.

Searching for an address in Organic Maps, however, has been pretty hit or miss for me.

Anyone else been running into this?

Edit: literally the next comment I saw is talking about this XD

The problem with OSM & Organic maps is that searching/finding an address is a completely alien process to majority of users. Find by intersection? whaaat?!

Many adresses are not in the database. Just the road names. It makes it quite unusable for some countries, and I guess some US states.

I just retried an earlier failure. When I search for the address with “avenue” it works but with “ave” it goes “I have no idea what you could possibly mean”

Only works if the address your looking for it listed. Otherwise of still goes back to nearest junctions.

If it’s missing, add it and you can find it in the future. It’s very easy

I don’t know where it is though. That’s why I’m using the map. To find and search it.

I’m not going to add every place I go to. And the lens I go to often. In know where they are!!

I thought you wanted something that’s not google? You’ve got the chance to contribute to it. You don’t have to, but if you do, the places you visited will be there much faster. In my area there’s everything by now and much more than google has

You can copy addresses in GMaps.

Touch and hold the address in a place “card” or whatever the fuck Google calls it now.

Yes, I despise what they’ve done to it. Used to be able to simply add a location to your contacts directly from maps (it would actually copy everying - business name, address, phone number, etc).

Guess that wasn’t collecting enough info from us.

Maybe not, but like you were told from another comment waze is also a Google/Alphabet product. As an otherwise near fully de-googled phone user, google maps is still the best option I know of.
