I, like many of us, are still try to figure out everything about this new platform. Are new users welcome? Are we crashing this niche party? And is all the acclimation annoying? What are “instances”? Are there corresponding communities to reddit? I initially got into reddit as a form of therapy. You could post casually to get things off your chest, discuss random topics about everything, quip, and browse interesting stories. Hoping to find the same here, maybe in a better form, once it’s understood.

Since communities (aka subreddits) are hosted on different servers (instances) I thought I would need a separate account on each instance to be able to post them (kept getting “not logged in” message).

Once I actually read the instructions everything was good. One account (choose the instance you want) and then use search … but you must enter the remote instance url exactly as written… no wildcats or anything.
