I’ve tried submitting 7-8 posts today and only one has gone through. The rest just spin and spin for however many minutes I attempt to leave the page up for.
Also, has anyone else noticed on Lemmy instances (lemmy.world specifically as that’s what I use, but I believe it’s happened on lemm.ee as well) that they’ll click on a post and instead of the post they wanted, they’ll get sports stats or something else? Its almost always sports stats. I’ll post screenshots below showing what I mean.
(rant) I’m a longtime IT hobbyist and Lemmy is still lacking so much… BUT I know it’s new and I’m hopeful, especially with the speedy development of kbin which is a lot more intuitive to me. If anyone has any tips on successfully navigating/subscribing/posting to other instances from my preferred instance, tips are welcome. Currently I only know how to add them by crafting the URL and it only works sometimes.
Yeah, I’ve been getting a lot pf different error messages, everything from missing tokens to random timeouts. Lemmy just isn’t ready for such an influx yet, we’ll have to give it time.
I’ve been having constant issues connecting to lemmy.world for around a week now. Normally its “webpage is unresponsive” errors. Others like lemmy.ml have been loading fast and easily for me.
I had issues replying from my lemmy.world account to kbin comments the other day (endless spinning). Not sure if it was an issue with kbin or lemmy.world. but lemmy.world is also still on 1.7.4
I’m trying out kbin.social for the time being since Lemmy.world keeps erroring out and the web ui is pretty bad (yes, i have third party apps already).
Every lemmy instance has always been totally unusable on my iPhone (Safari iOS 15). Endless spinning whenever I try to open a post. Never figured out why. Made the decision to sign up to kbin very easy.
I mean, kbin is fine too, but there are a ton of Lemmy instances.
What I think the Fediverse Observer needs is a bot that measures response time and uses that to recommend an instance.
Lemmy.world is working fine for me
The wrong post bug was happening to me last night too. I didn’t check if it was on lemmy.world or not, but I just assumed it was because of a lot of new traffic.
Here are the screenshots showing the wrong post issue I described in paragraph 2. Forgive me, I am not a smartphone Picasso.
Edit: OK, the main post screenshot shows the thread I clicked about Jerboa. This screenshot shows the improperly loaded post, with all the correct comments talking about Jerboa and other apps.
@Cinner I’ve had a number of issues with Jerboa. It’s developed by the same people who maintain Lemmy, and they are stretched thin.
For now I’ve switched to Thunder, and it’s a lot more polished, though a bit less feature complete.
